The routine part of the lab has now been stable for several weeks. From next Monday, our COVID lab will also be fully restarted. Our reporting lines with Sciensano are operational again, allowing us to re-enable our full test capacity.
From now on, the Ct values of the detected genes will also be stated on the report. Samples with a high viral load (Ct < 25) will be further investigated for the presence of possible variants, including the British variant. This additional result will be reported within 48 hours.
We actively collaborate with the national reference labs to identify circulating variants. A representative amount of our positive samples are sent for sequencing. We closely follow the literature and guidelines of Sciensano. If necessary, we can switch quickly in our test strategy.
We urge you to clearly state the patient’s national register number with every application for SARS-CoV-2 PCR, so that correct reporting to Sciensano in the context of contact tracing is possible on the one hand, and the result can be consulted on CoZo on the other.
For the time being we cannot yet read the e-forms electronically. All you have to do is print the completed e-form and attach it to the sample. This will be remedied as soon as possible. Applications via our usual paper application form and Lab Online are of course also possible.
In case of questions, you can email us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Since the operation of our telephone exchange has now stabilized, the emergency numbers previously communicated are no longer active. You can contact us at the usual number. You can still use the mobile phone number (xxxx/xx.xx.xx) of the secretary on call during the weekend outside office hours.
You can still follow the most recent developments on our website www.aml-lab.be. Further communication will follow as soon as possible.
Thank you for understanding.
With best regards,
